Deploy Verex to Microsoft 365 Admin Center

Step-by-step instructions for deploying the Verex Excel add-in to your organization

Prerequisites

Before deploying, ensure you have the following:

  • Admin Access: You must be a Microsoft 365 Global Administrator or have appropriate permissions to deploy add-ins
  • Compatibility: Verify that centralized deployment of add-ins works for your organization by consulting Microsoft's compatibility documentation

Deployment Steps

  1. Access the Admin Center

    Sign in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and navigate to Settings > Integrated apps.

  2. Navigate to Add-ins

    Select the Add-ins link from the Integrated apps page.

  3. Initiate Deployment

    Click Deploy Add-in at the top of the page.

  4. Choose Deployment Type

    In the deployment wizard, you'll see options for how to deploy an add-in.

  5. Select Upload Custom Apps

    Choose the Upload custom apps option to deploy the Verex add-in using a manifest URL.

  6. Provide Manifest URL

    In the Choose how to upload app section:

    • Select the option to provide a URL for the manifest
    • Fill in the URL: https://app.tryverex.com/manifest.xml
    • Click Validate to verify the manifest
    • Once validated, select Next
  7. Assign Users

    Under Assign Users:

    • Select Everyone or Entire Organization to make Verex available to all users
    • If a Deployment Method option is shown, we recommend selecting Optional.
  8. Accept Permissions and Complete Deployment

    Accept the permissions requested by Verex. For more information about data privacy and permissions, see our Privacy Policy.

    Select Next to proceed through any remaining screens until you see Deploy or Finish deployment.

  9. Confirm Deployment

    Click Deploy or Finish deployment to complete the process. A green checkmark or confirmation message indicates successful deployment.

Important Notes

⏱️ Deployment Timeline

Add-ins can take up to 72 hours to appear in the Excel ribbon after deployment. Users may need to restart Excel or their computer to see the Verex add-in in the ribbon.

👥 User Assignment Best Practice

Microsoft recommends making assignments by using groups rather than individual users for easier management. Group-based assignments automatically update when group membership changes.

🔧 "Available" Deployment

If you choose Available deployment, users can install Verex from Home > Add-ins in Excel.

Troubleshooting Deployment

Add-in Not Appearing After 72 Hours

Solution:

  • Verify the deployment status in the Admin Center (Settings > Integrated apps > Add-ins)
  • Check that users are included in the assigned groups or distribution list
  • Have users restart Excel completely

Manifest Validation Fails

Solution:

  • Double-check the manifest URL is correct: https://app.tryverex.com/manifest.xml
  • Ensure your network/firewall allows access to app.tryverex.com
  • Try again after a few minutes in case of temporary network issues
  • Contact support@tryverex.com if the issue persists

Permissions Concerns

Solution:

  • Review our Privacy Policy for detailed information about data handling
  • Verex only accesses spreadsheet data when users explicitly initiate verification
  • No data is stored permanently; all processing is done in real-time
  • Contact support@tryverex.com with specific compliance or security questions
